Fort Sheridan Historical Society

Our Archives - Our Online Museum

The Fort Sheridan Historical Society has an archive of quite a few objects, pictures, maps, articles, and other items relating to the Fort's history. Most of these were obtained as gifts from generous donors, for which we are quite grateful.

As the Society currently does not have a permanent location in which to display the artifacts, this online location is used to share these items with website visitors. As many of our visitors are former residents of the Fort, now living across the world, this online collection allows them to view parts of the Fort's history from wherever they are, without having to actually travel back to Illinois.
The Society maintains a secure storage facility for the collection of donated or purchased artifacts from the Fort's past. If you have items pertaining to the Fort's history, including personal photographs from the Fort, copies of the Fort's newspaper or other published materials, or any other item you think may be of interest to the Society, please contact the Society for more information and donation forms.

A long-term goal of the Society is to establish a physical location, perhaps at the Fort or nearby, for the display of educational historical information and our collection of memorabilia.
