For many years, staff at the Fort published a weekly newspaper, The Tower.  It typically included

 

• timely articles about happenings at the Fort,

• upcoming events,

• articles about individuals at the Fort,

• ads from local businesses,

• important Fort phone numbers,

• etc.

The copy of The Tower below is from May 28, 1993, the last publication before Fort Sheridan was inactivated by the Army.  (The actual date of inactivation was June 1, 1993.)  It includes a letter from the final Base Commander, as well as articles and photos about the history of the Fort and impressions of the Fort by current residents.
