Fort Sheridan Historical Society

The first PDF document below is from a POW Yearbook produced by the Fort with the Prisoners of War being held at Fort Sheridan in 1945.  This book was provided by Thomas Wagner of Koblenz, Germany, whose father, Wolfram Wagner, was a POW at the Fort. Thomas reported that his mother told him that Wolfram always spoke positively about his time at Fort Sheridan.  Thomas says his father was treated well at the Fort and thanks all involved back then for treating him well!!!! It is thought the illustrations in the book were created by POWs. 

 

At the end of the PDF are a number of pictures believed to be from the Fort in 1945, also provided by Thomas Wagner, and a certificate earned by Wolfram while at the Fort. 

 

The second PDF below is a page from what appears to have been a POW Newsletter.  A translation of the Newsletter is provided in the third PDF.
